Manual Error

Manual Error is an exploration of interplay between analog and digital. At the end of the 20th century, many feared doomsday: all digital devices would crash, sending us back to the pre-digital age. However, that day never occurred. Today, technology has surpassed in technicality and efficiency faster than we can comprehend. Every aspect of our life is now structured around digital technology. Now more than ever, many have voiced their desire to take a step back and go backwards to take back control of their life. This has led to a resurgence in tangible analog mediums, especially with vinyls and film photography. By utilizing data extracted from recordings and combined with digital software like TouchDesigner, new outputs were generated. The final output presents itself as a VHS recording which was then later recorded digitally. How could integration of analog and digital visually and narratively present itself?
